Crawl Space Repair Before & After Photos

This homeowner had a soft spot in their floor and was having concerns of what they cannot see. After a detailed inspection of the crawl space from our Design Specialist, the issue was very apparent! The flooring system had been repaired in a manner that was not structurally sound. Our expert Trufloor crew came out and fortified the area for the homeowner! 

A Savannah, GA homeowner contacted our office for assistance in stabilizing their damaged floor joists. After a thorough assessment, we sistered the joists with new lumber. This process involves attaching new, structurally sound lumber alongside the existing joists to reinforce and stabilize them. By sistering the joists, we restore the structural integrity of the floor system, prevent further damage, and ensure a safer, more stable foundation for the home.

This homeowner's crawl space was plagued by persistent humidity, moisture, and mold, creating an unhealthy environment and potential structural risks. Our team installed a SaniDry Sedona dehumidifier, effectively eliminating humidity, moisture, and mold issues, transforming the crawl space into a clean, dry, and healthier area.

Excessive moisture in the crawl space caused the insulation to become wet and fall from the subfloor. Installing the CleanSpace Encapsulation System reduced humidity in the crawl space, creating a moisture-controlled environment, eliminating the need for subfloor insulation.

She already had a vapor barrier in the crawl space but noticed it was not helping with the moisture problem and needed to be replaced. She scheduled an appointment with one of our inspectors. 

Our inspector, Jason Ussery, suggested that she encapsulate the crawl space with CleanSpace, a seven-layer reinforced polyethylene that isolates the home from the earth and reduces humidity levels. This new vapor barrier would keep her crawl space dry and clean and wouldn't have to worry about moisture ruining her floor joists and causing saggy floors! 

After three days of installation, the project was complete and the homeowner was absolutely thrilled with the results!
