Before Drainage System Installation
This crawl space had a small plastic vapor barrier to cover the ground, but there was nothing in place to remove any entering water, so it would collect in pools on top of the liner.
After Drainage System Installation
This is a view of the same area of the crawl space but with a perimeter waterproofing system installed. Visible in the photo here is the drainage matting and a sump pump next to the pillar.
Before SmartJack Support
This area required additional support to stabilize the floor above that was sagging.
After SmartJack Support
This area of the crawlspace had SmartJack support posts installed to supplementally support the floor that had been weakened by moisture over time. The layer on the ground is drainage matting, and under that is a perimeter drainage waterproofing system to remove floodwaters.
Drainage System Connected to Sump Pump
Under the brown drainage matting layer is a perimeter drainage system. This system drains water into the sump pump, effectively keeping rising groundwater out of the crawl space.
Drainage Rock
Drainage rock is used to cover the perimeter waterproofing system, aid water flow into the drainage system, and keep the system itself from floating with extensive flooding.
Sump Pump & Drainage System Installed
Here is the final look after this crawl space had a drainage system and sump pump installed to remove groundwater.
