During the inspection, there were multiple documented signs of mold, wood rot, and a high humidity level under the home. The Lowcountry Foundation Repair inspector designed a custom solution for Jacob that remove the water and reduce the humidity, stopping the mold from growing.

First, debris in the crawl space was removed. Then Drainage matting was used to cover the earth. On top of the matting, CleanSpace liner was used to seal the home from the earth, reducing moisture and humidity levels. Darold had a leak in the wall behind the kitchen drain, which had trapped water between the floor and the subfloor. An inspector from Lowcountry Basement Systems visited Darold’s home and thoroughly inspected it and the crawl space below. The relative humidity was very high in the crawl space, making it very humid and damp, causing sodden, fallen insulation and rotting, molding wood.
