Kitchen Floor Level Measurement
The inspector measured what areas of the floor were sinking and thoroughly inspected the matching areas in the crawl space, finding sinking support posts and the need for additional support where posts were too far apart to properly distribute the load.
Wood Rot in the Crawl Space
The inspector used the knife test to find what wood in the crawl space was compromised and noted which wood could be repaired as opposed to being replaced.
Sinking Concrete Block Pier
This is an example of one of the support pillars in the crawl space that had settled into the soil so much that the floor above was being only suspended by the surrounding floor, making a bouncy trampoline-like effect.
Pooling Water & Sinking Support Posts
Water was flooding into the crawl space and pooling around where some of the supports were located, causing the soil directly underneath to become too saturated with water, allowing the load above to push the support down into the soil, leaving the floor unlevel and cracks in the drywall.
