Home Insurance Company Requires Hazlehurst, GA Foundation to be Fixed
Challenge
Gloria B. of Hazlehurst, GA had a routine home inspection to comply with her homeowners' insurance policy. During the inspection, the inspector noticed a large crack in Gloria’s foundation wall. The insurance company demanded she fix her foundation or, the insurance company would drop her policy.
The cracked foundation wall was located on the left side of the garage. The concrete slab in the garage had also settled, creating a tripping hazard when entering and exiting the garage. The insurance company recommended Gloria call Lowcountry Foundation Repair for help.
Solution
A Lowcountry Foundation Repair inspector went to Gloria’s home and recommended a two-part custom solution to address the settlement issue she was experiencing.
The inspector recommended stabilizing the foundation wall with four galvanized steel push piers. Three of the four piers were installed along the exterior of the garage wall. The fourth pier was pushed in front of the garage, next to the concrete driveway. Load-bearing strata were reached at a depth of 7 feet 2 inches. The job took two days for the Lowcountry Foundation Repair to complete. Gloria was thrilled to call the insurance company back to tell them the foundation was fixed.
