Wet Insulation
Our inspector, Brian Hunter, looked carefully throughout the crawlspace for warning signs of a moisture problem. One of the signs was the wet insulation.
Wood Rot
Wood rot was also present, shown by the ease of sticking a knife into the wood.
Sweating Walls
The walls of the crawlspace were sweating moisture, another warning sign.
Condensation on Ducting
Beads of water formed on the ducting.
Encapsulation
Brian suggested that the owner should encapsulate the entire crawl space with our CleanSpace product, a seven-layer reinforced laminate that isolates the home from the earth and that completely reduces humidity levels.
Sani-Dry Sedona
The Sedona keeps the relative humidity below 55% by removing it from the air, and with the condensation pump moving it away into the SmartDrain.
SmartDrain
The SmartDrain is where the extra moisture is drained out of the crawlspace.
