Saggy Floors in Beaufort, SC Lifted Back into Place

Challenge

Gary S. of Beaufort, SC purchased a 27-year-old home. The floors he said, were sinking. Gary researched his settlement issue and called Lowcountry Foundation Repair asking for SmartJacks to fix his floor. Kris Evans, an inspector of Lowcountry Foundation Repair, went to Gary’s house and identified the problem. The subfloor had weakened along one section of Gary’s home and there were two individual weak spots at other locations.

Solution

Kris suggested fixing the larger area by installing four steel zinc-plated 8’ PowerBrace beams in a continuous line running across multiple joists. The PowerBrace beams would be supported by a total of 10 SmartJacks, each capable of supporting 60,000 lbs of pressure.

A single SmartJack was placed at each weak spot to support the home.

All of the SmartJacks were cut to custom heights prior to installation. The project took one day to complete.
