Total Crawl Space Encapsulation in Rincon, GA
Challenge
Steven C. is a homeowner in Rincon, GA who noticed moisture and puddles of water in a certain corner of his crawl space. He visited lowcountrybasementsystems.com to look at pictures and content to see if other homeowners had the same problem as he did. After finding what looked similar to his crawl space, he called Lowcountry Basement Systems to schedule a free inspection.
Solution
Daniel Friesen inspected Steven’s crawl space. He suggested that Steven should totally encapsulate the crawl space to prevent further moisture and water intrusion. Daniel measured the walls and the support columns, he calculated 2,026 sq. ft. of CleanSpace Liner would be needed to cover the earth, foundation walls and support columns. The 20-mil linear was designed specifically to prevent moisture entering the crawl space.
CleanSpace Vent Covers were installed at all 6 locations to prevent unwanted air from the outside from entering the crawl space. Ground water that would normally enter the crawl space was collected via 80 linear ft. of SmartPipe, and channeled to a TripleSafe Sump Pump with an alarm.
To remove humidity from the air, a SaniDry Sedona dehumidifier was installed. Moisture collected from the Sedona was piped to the TripleSafe Sump Pump to be removed from the area. A EverLast Crawl Space door replaced the old door, completely sealing out the outside air.
