This home in Hilton Head Island, SC had severe humidity in the crawlspace contributing to an issue with the floor. The subfloor had been newly installed and insulated with spray foam a year ago. Within a year, the wood moisture levels had risen so much that spray foam was falling off of the wood in some areas in the crawl space. The true problem was the moisture coming through the walls and ground into the crawlspace, raising the humidity extensively. At above 60% relative humidity, mold growth and wood rot can start to take place. Our inspector came out to the home to fully evaluate the issue with a free inspection. The humidity level was measured at just above 80%. Our inspector recommended having the CleanSpace Encapsulation System installed to solve the problem. Our team installed the system, effectively sealing out the moisture, and monitoring & controlling the humidity level to protect the floor.
