Warehouse Slab Lifted 2 inches, Back Into Place in Milledgeville, GA
Challenge
Behind the storefront of Georgia Watersports in Milledgeville, GA, employees packed and shipped orders to customers all around the country. The business said the store manager, John G., “was good” however, there was an opportunity to grow, but there was a problem with the warehouse. One of the concrete slabs in the rear of the building had sunk 3.5 inches creating a tripping hazard for employees and making it impossible to roll carts through the area.
The owner of Georgia Watersports had heard about Lowcountry Foundation Repair from a friend. He called the company and scheduled a free inspection.
Solution
It was recommended by Lowcountry Foundation Repair to install four slab piers along the edge of the slab which sank.
Four, 8-inch cores were removed from the slab. Main plates were installed; wing plates were attached and piers were pushed to load-bearing strata. Hydraulic lift cylinders were attached to the brackets. The lift was achieved and the slab was raised to its original position. The manager was amazed! The team had exceeded his expectations. The job took two days for the Lowcountry Foundation Repair team to complete and was very successful said the manager.
