Walk-in Basement has WaterGuard, Triple Safe Sump Pump and EverLast Panels Installed
Challenge
Allan S. and his wife of Mt. Pleasant, SC had been experiencing waterproofing issues in their finished walk-in basement for ten years. Only after heavy rains would the problem become evident. Concerned about damages to their home and mold issues in the drywall, they called Lowcountry Basement Systems.
Kris Evans, System Design Specialist, went to Allan’s house and investigated the problem. After confirming that the water was coming in through the floor. Kris designed a full perimeter system to prevent Allan’s finished basement from damages.
Solution
Kris designed a custom solution for Allan and his wife that would remove the water coming up through the footing and basement floor. Kris’s system called for the removal of drywall near the floor. He also recommended 148 feet of WaterGuard™, a specially designed piping system, be installed around the perimeter of the basement to collect the water coming up through the foundation.
Two WaterGuard Ports™ were included in the design to allow easy access for regular maintenance of the system. A TripleSafe™ sump pump collected the water from the WaterGuard™ channel and pumped it out of the basement through two Iceguard channels and one LawnScape outlet. The last step in the project was the installation of 148 feet of EverLast™ panels. Made with nonorganic material, the EverLast™ panels will never allow mold to grow.
The project took seven days to complete.
