A Wet Basement in Brunswick, GA is Fixed with WaterGuard and a SuperSump
Challenge
Water issues in a basement caused many problems for the tenants living inside this Brunswick, GA home. Mold and odors permeated the house. The basement walls began to rot from the moisture problem. The property manager, Nancy L. called Lowcountry Foundation Repair for help.
Solution
Lowcountry Foundation Repair installed WaterGuard around the perimeter of the basement interior to channel water to a ⅓ horsepower Zoeller cast iron SuperSump pump that was installed in the corner of the basement for water removal.
WaterGuard is designed to capture water seepage along the wall and floor joints. It is made from thick plastic and won’t rust or decay over time. Nine WaterGuard inspection ports were installed in the system to allow for annual inspection. Water collected is channeled to a SuperSump pump where it is pumped away from the foundation.
Before installing the WaterGuard, the basement floor had to be jackhammered and concrete removed. Once the site was prepped, the WaterGuard was installed and covered with fresh concrete.
The job took three days to complete.
