A homeowner in Saint Simons Island, GA was concerned about the wood boards of the floor rising up in some areas. an inspection of the crawl space revealed an issue with water seeping into the crawlspace and fluctuating the humidity levels, causing the floor to weaken over time and sag between the existing support columns. In order to solve the issue, our team installed a waterproofing system to drain entering water into a sump pump to be discharged out and away from the crawl space. Then, SmartJacks were installed between the existing support columns in the areas the floor was sagging.

Water would seep into this crawl space, rising the humidity level in the space, and causing weakness in the floor.

Perimeter Drainage System

Here is what the perimeter drainage system looks like before drainage rock is backfilled over it. as water enters, it flows to a sump pump to be pumped out.

Drainage Matting

Drainage matting is a barrier installed in the crawl space that is designed with a dimpled pattern that provides channels for water that enters the space to flow to the drainage system more easily.
