This home in Jesup, GA had a prior powderpost beetle infestation that left the floor of the home weak and sagging. There were large gaps growing in between the base of the wall and the floor from sagging. The wood was repaired with new treated wood and our team installed the SmartJack Support System to lift and stabilize the new floor into place. Our inspector recommended also considering a CleanSpace Encapsulation later on to control the moisture levels in the crawl space, preventing mold growth and deterring the interest of powderpost beetles.

Mold Growth

High humidity was causing a lot of mold to grow on the joists and subfloor. Our inspector recommended having the crawl space encapsulated to stop mold growth by controlling the humidity.
