Before Encapsulation 1
Here is the crawlspace before the encapsulation.
Before Encapsulation 2
Vapor barriers that don't cover the ground and are sealed to the wall are not sufficient enough to protect against moisture. In fact, water can pool on top of the liner from the HVAC ducts sweating.
Before Encapsulation 3
The sides of the crawlspace were completely open to air moisture. In order to seal off the open crawlspace, an insulating foam board that also provides the AC with protection from hot and cold temperatures, increasing overall energy efficiency.
After Encapsulation 1
This is the encapsulated crawlspace. You can see the insulating foam board applied to the crawlspace wall openings.
After Encapsulation 2
This is the new crawlspace door, which also seals off unwanted moisture.
After Encapsulation 3
Here is the dehumidifier and SmartDrain, used to control the humidity to safe levels and drain the moisture out of the space.
