God's Boot Trip

This past spring Rob and his 14 year old son Holden took on the audacious goal of biking the Northern Tier of the United States. What an exciting adventure!

On May 26th they started their trip in the crisp cool climate of the Pacific Northwest right outside of Seattle, Washington where they were amazed to find that even in May there was still snow on the ground! Here in South Georgia things were just starting to heat up, while Rob and Holden were contending with hyperthermia! They got to bike through some beautiful country and met some amazing people along the way!

During their month on the road the traveled across 17 states and even ventured into Canada. They got to visit such amazing sites and cities such as Time Square, Niagara Falls, and Boston. They even conquered 3 mountain passes! Washington Pass which has an elevation of 5,476 feet, Sherman Pass with an elevation of 5,574 feet and Rainy pass. They also faced numerous trials along the way such as flat tries, bee stings at 20 mph and of course exhaustion and most nights they camped out under the stars! But they wouldn't let that stop them! This was truly the adventure of a life time that both challenged Rob and Holden and brought them closer. They experienced things they won’t soon forget and met people along the way that will always have a special place in their story. We’re just glad they’re back and safe! We missed them around here!
