I'm Thankful For...
This Thanksgiving, Lowcountry Basement Systems wanted to remind every team member that they are appreciated. During our weekly One Team meeting, each team member picked another employee that they are thankful for and wrote a reason for their gratitude on a slip of paper.
We covered the walls with those notes giving thanks and appreciation!
Rob Videon, the owner, wrote, “Kenny Sharpless. You genuinely care about our entire team and the customers we serve. I trust you to always give me the truth about any situation.”
Smiles filled the office. Happiness radiated throughout the building as team members read aloud sentences of appreciation.
The slips were a great way to remind everyone why we are thankful to work here.
“I enjoy working for a company that strives each and every day to help people. I’m thankful to work for a company that does not just put importance on money, but the people they are helping and serving. I am also thankful to have wonderful team members that make my job a little easier,” said Production Coordinator, Kathy Jones.
“I am thankful for the family-oriented atmosphere, and for always feeling appreciated by my coworkers,” Amber Waters, Lead Customer Service Representative said.
Weeks after the reminders were hung on the walls, they still get a lot of attention from everyone who enters our building, even the UPS-man smiled when he read them.
“I am thankful for the opportunity to work for a locally owned company where my coworkers become not only my friends but family,” said Nikki Leger, a Customer Service Representative.
Even though Thanksgiving is over, the bonds and relationships remain.
Lowcountry Basement Systems consistently creates an environment where team members can look forward to coming to work every day knowing they are appreciated for what they do.
Whether it’s a simple piece of candy that team members enjoy at the office after finishing a job early, or a high-five between an office team member and an inspector as they pass in the hallway early Monday morning, the team spirit thrives.
A Starbucks run typically means that the marketing department is whipping up a new idea that they wanted to launch yesterday. If you see can of Red Bull sitting near the copier, you can be sure our Production Manager, Kenny Sharpless is close by. The one inescapable thing you won’t miss is the sound of laughter.
Laughter permeates the building, pours through every door, every wall and every hallway. You don’t have to worry about asking about the joke because like a game of Telephone, everyone hears a slightly different version of it.
It’s the little things that make working at Lowcountry Basement Systems great.
Marketing Manager, Michael Connolly expressed his gratitude, “I’m always thankful. Every day I am thankful to work here. This opportunity has been one of the biggest blessings in my life. Every day I am grateful to be part of this team. I am very lucky, very blessed.”
