Home Owner Association Presentation
Last week we had an opportunity to do something that we don’t usually get a chance to do. We got out of the office and went to a group of homeowners in Hilton Head, South Carolina. Rob Videon, one of our owners and our sales manager, Dan Friesen spoke a small crowd of 15 who were concerned about their sinking slabs after Hurricane Matthew.
It was a free educational seminar about sinking concrete, flood insurance and crawl space issues that drew the crowd.
In early October of 2017, Hilton Head Island was hit hard by Hurricane Matthew. Many homeowners had to remove trees from their homes, driveways and neighborhood streets. The hurricane also brought lots of water to the Lowcountry, flooding many homes and garages in the Southeast. Once the mandatory evacuation was lifted people came back; some didn’t even recognize their homes. It’s been a gut-wrenching few months for the people of Hilton Head. After the strong weather, many have become concerned about settlement issues.
Rob Videon and Dan Friesen explained what had happened and what possible side effects that homeowners could be experiencing. They also took questions at the end and offered free inspections. It was a great day for us to serve our community by sharing our knowledge with others.
