Structural Support Add to Metter, GA Crawl Space, Closes One-Inch Gap

Challenge

Mr. C. of Metter, GA had a historic home downtown. Over the years his hardwood floors began to sink. A one-inch gap formed between the floor and the two nonload bearing walls. Mr. C. researched reputable companies that could fix his home. He called Lowcountry Basement Systems for a free inspection.

Solution

To lift the walls back into place, Lowcountry Basement Systems installed two PowerBrace beams under the joists, supporting the walls. SmartJacks supported the metal PowerBrace Beams, each capable of supporting 60,000 pounds of pressure. The one-inch gap between the floors and walls was closed quickly. The job took two days to complete and was fixed with a long-term solution.
