Moldy, Sticky Air Removed from Hawkinsville, GA, Home

Challenge

Chantel B. of Hawkinsville, GA had excess moisture under her house. She and her husband began experiencing common signs of high humidity in their crawl space, dank musty odors never left their home.

Solution

Lowcountry Basement Systems came to their house upon request. It was recommended to install a CleanSpace Encapsulation System to keep the moisture vapor out of the crawl space. A SaniDry CX dehumidifier was also installed in the crawl space to collect and remove any remaining vapor.

Chantel’s crawl space was completely sealed off with a CleanSpace encapsulation system. The components included drainage matting on top of the dirt, with 2,200 feet of 20 mil CleanSpace Liner on top of the matting; walls and piers were wrapped with CleanSpace Liner. SilverGlo, insulation was installed along the foundation walls to keep water droplets from forming. A SmartDrain was installed to collect water from the SaniDry CX dehumidifier via condensate pump. An EverLast Crawl Space Door prevented moisture from coming into the crawl space via the door.

The project took five days to complete.
