Settled Slab Home, Lifted Back into Place with Push Pier System
Challenge
Mary Jo G. of Pooler, GA noticed signs of settlement in her 24-year-old home. Cracks appeared in the drywall, ceiling, and brick masonry outside. Mary Jo wanted her home stabilized and fixed. It was her forever home.
While researching companies, Mary Jo found Lowcountry Foundation Repair on Angies’ List and called for a free inspection of her foundation.
Solution
Billy Brandenburg, System Design Specialist for Lowcountry Foundation Repair interviewed Mary Jo, inspected the foundation outside the home, and used his laser level to measure the drop of load-bearing walls in the home.
After the two-hour inspection, Billy recommends installing six push piers along one side of Mary Jo’s foundation wall. Lowcountry Foundation Repair used the Model 288 Push Pier System. All steel components are galvanized steel. The coil rods used to secure the brackets and piers were zinc coated.
Piers were pushed to depths ranging from 7’ 2” to 13’ 2”. The pressure needed to stabilize and lift Mary Jo’s home was between 2500 and 3000 psi.
The home was stabilized and a lift was achieved within two days.
